Climate and Mining

Tens of thousands of people across the globe are standing up to call for a safe climate.  From action to retain our forests as carbon sinks, to advocating for renewable energy, to physically blockading and disrupting the politicians and corporations who are continuing to invest tax dollars in polluting industries… it is a global movement, led in large part by a vibrant and creative youth contingent.

In Australia since the first Climate Camp in Newcastle in 2008 we have seen many grassroots actions.  There have been a number of actions at Hazelwood power station in Victoria, and the ‘Decommission order’ is available for communities to use on their own dodgy coal infrastructure.
